  4. Show the SDG icons displayed in the classroom and briefly explain that each icon represents one goal.
  5. Share  The Road to the SDGs: A discussion with students (video) to give students  an overview
  6. Split class into small groups (3-4 students) before the next lesson.

Lesson 2 (30 min): Learning more about each SDG

  1. Read parts of The Planet and the 17 Goals to highlight specific goals.
  2. Have each small group read through all of the goals off of their tablet or computer
  3. Students discuss which SDG that they will pick.
  4. Each group will pick a SDG to make a poster for.

Lesson 3 (45 minutes) Digging Deeper into one SDG

  1.  Give each group a link to the book on the Global Classroom Connect SDG read aloud list that corresponds with their SDG.
  2. Each group has a short discussion on how they can make small actions towards helping  their SDG.
  3. Have them design a poster that illustrates their SDG and shows how they will make small steps toward helping it.  Have them relate their action back to the read aloud book.
  4. Give each group an opportunity to share their ideas with the class.
